New Data Resources
WashU Libraries have recently expanded their data offerings with the acquisition of L2 Voter Data, St. Louis Impervious Surfaces Data, and an additional dataset to the Gallup Microdata Collection.
New Datasets
- L2 Voter Data: In partnership with the Weidenbaum Center on the Economy, Government, and Public Policy, the Libraries have acquired L2 Voter Data. L2 Voter data is a regularly updated database of all registered voters in the US. The data supports research by providing detailed demographic profiles, historical voting records, party affiliation data, and geospatial analysis tools. Access: L2 data is restricted access. Learn how to Request Access to L2 Voter Data here. Additionally, any new L2 data releases will be reflected within the data collection within 30 days.
- St. Louis Impervious Surfaces Data: The dataset offers a detailed GIS of impervious surface features for the northern part of the city of St. Louis and some portions of St. Louis County. Examples of features in the dataset include: roads, parking lots, buildings, sidewalks, concrete pads, airport taxiways, athletic surfaces, and swimming pools. Access: Available to WashU users through WashU Research Data or the Geospatial Data Collection.
- Gallup Data: a global public opinion research firm with several longstanding surveys. WashU Libraries offer access to the Gallup Analytics database and Gallup Microdata, a more granular view of anonymized questionnaire-level data. Recently, the Libraries have added the Gallup Poll Social Series (GPSS) poll “Proud to Be American” to the Gallup Microdata Collection. Access: Refer to Gallup Analytics and Gallup Microdata for instructions on accessing the data.
