Inviting Applications for the 2026 Newman Exploration Travel Fund
The WashU Libraries are now accepting applications for the 2026 Newman Exploration Travel Fund. The fund awards up to $10,000 per award for one undergraduate student scholarship, one graduate student scholarship, one faculty grant, and one staff grant for members of the Danforth, North, and West Campuses who wish to explore and discover the endless possibilities our universe offers.
Traveling into the unknown represents a unique opportunity to achieve myriad cultural, intellectual, philosophical, or academic goals, fulfill lifelong dreams, serve others, or expand our worldviews.
Applications are due by 6 p.m. on Sunday, February 1, 2026. Submission must include a budget, a written proposal, and a completed application form. Winners will be announced in April 2026, with awards being disbursed in May 2026. All travel must be completed between June and December 31, 2026. Recipients will be required to submit a post-travel report and lead an in-person presentation in the spring of 2027 about their travel and how it impacted them. Students graduating in 2026 are not eligible.
Full program details, including travel criteria, FAQs, and application requirements, can be viewed on the Newman Exploration Travel Fund page.
