What is Geography Awareness Week?
Initially established in the late 1980s, Geography Awareness Week promotes the importance of geography and geographic education. GIS Day, added in the 1990s, highlights the transformative power of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), which help visualize, analyze, and interpret geospatial data for informed decision-making.
