2025 Winter Holiday Closure
Most locations of WashU Libraries will be closed to patrons from Wednesday, December 24, 2025 through Sunday, January 4, 2026:
- John M. Olin Library
- Kranzberg Art & Architecture Library
- East Asian Library
- Gaylord Music Library
- Kopolow Business Library
All remote resources, including 24/7 chat and electronic resources will remain available throughout winter break.
Faculty and students are encouraged to reach out to their subject librarians with questions or if they anticipate any issues or needs during this time.
Regular winter break hours and operations at the Libraries will resume on Monday, January 5. Details and hours for all libraries can be viewed on the Library Hours page.
Service Adjustments
- Campus Delivery will be suspended on December 19 and resume on January 5.
- All patron requests for Olin and West Campus libraries (holds, Campus Delivery, ILL, Course Reserves) will be suspended on December 23 and queued for processing on January 5.

- Materials on the Olin hold shelf that would have expired during the closure will be extended to January 6.
- Starting December 23, items left in return bins may not be discharged until January 5.

Additional Locations
- The Bernard Becker Medical Library will remain accessible 24×7 to all valid medical school ID badge holders. The information desks will be staffed as usual except for university holidays on December 24, 25, 31, and January 1.
- The Brown School Library will be remote only during this period.
- Check the Law Library’s website for any closures during the break.
