Review for Retention
Items listed below are identified as damaged, superseded, or duplicative, as defined under the Deaccessioning heading of the WashU Libraries Collection Development Policy. Each item marked for deaccessioning is listed for 30 days for faculty review before it is removed from our collections.
Scroll from left to right to view items on the list, or search by call number or title in the WashU Libraries Catalog for additional details.
Faculty can request that an item be retained, rather than removed, from the collection. To do so, please copy the item record number from the list to complete the Request for Retention Form.
Please note that damaged items are added to the list because they cannot be repaired without expensive and time-intensive conservation treatments. Some examples of this damage include mold, vandalism that renders the content unusable, or large sections of missing pages. Library staff may contact the requestor to verify that they wish us to retain materials “as is.”
Please get in touch with the appropriate subject librarian if you have questions about the Review for Retention process.
