Tove Klovning is a dedicated lecturer in law and the foreign/Comparative/International Law Librarian at Washington University School of Law. With a strong background in legal research, she provides valuable assistance across various legal topics, including foreign, comparative, and international law, as well as the American legal system. Klovning is an author of research guides spanning American, international, and foreign legal issues. At WashU School of Law, she has been teaching legal research methodology classes since 2002. She also had the privilege of teaching a research methodology course in the Global Legal Studies Master’s Program at the Universidade Catolica Portuguesa in Lisbon, Portugal. Furthermore, Klovning has presented at prestigious conferences in both the US and internationally, showcasing her expertise.
Prior to her current role, Klovning gained experience as a graduate assistant at the Albert Jenner, Jr. Law Library of the University of Illinois, a Visiting Research Scholar in the Ombudsman Office at Southern Illinois University, and held positions as a law clerk intern for the Bergen Circuit Court and a legal caseworker in Bergen, Norway. Growing up in diverse countries such as India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Malaysia, Klovning is multilingual and has interned for a judge in Malaysia during her early twenties.
Klovning earned her degree in American Law with a post-specialization from the University of Bergen College of Law in Norway. She furthered her education by pursuing an LLM and an MS in library and information science from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, US, and is an associate member of the American Bar Association.
