New Electronic Resources of American Newspapers and Hebrew Literature

The Libraries have recently acquired new electronic resources for students and scholars across the Danforth Campus. Here are some details about our newly available databases:

American Underworld: the Flash Press (1826 –1876): Collection of short-lived newspapers that cover crime, scandal, blackmail, and the seamier aspects of urban life in the mid-nineteenth century. The included publications were all collected by the American Antiquarian Society and are among the rarest of American newspapers. They are of particular interest to researchers in gender studies, the underground economy, and the literature of the era.

Otzar HaHochma: Digital library of searchable full-text scans of Jewish books from the fifteenth century to contemporary works, with a focus on Hebrew-language rabbinic literature. Access is limited to two users at a time. Please log out when you are finished. There is a twenty-page printing limit per day.
