GIS and Drones in Public Safety

WashU Libraries is thrilled to welcome back alumnus Ryan Rhee (BA ’20), IT/GIS Manager for the Boone County Fire Protection District and Missouri Task Force 1.

Rhee and colleagues from Missouri Task Force 1 and the St. Louis Metro Strike Teams will share how they use GIS and sUAS (drone) technology to support public safety and disaster response, from the 2025 spring tornadoes to the July 4 flooding in Texas. The team will also offer live demonstrations of the vehicles and drones used in local and statewide emergency operations.
